Victoria Francés is born on the 25th October, 1982 in Valencia. From early age she became fascinated with the beauty of the Galician forests where she spent most of her childhood.

After travelling to cities like Paris and London she became hypnotized by the already legendary mythical gothic works. Her illustrations recall the amazingly beautiful gothical romanticism which takes us thru a magical and ancestral world that you only dare to dream about. The suffering and prohibited beings of this world, in their dark castels and mansions were obviously influenced by Goethe, Allen Poe, Baudelaire and Bram Stoker.

She attended the Faculty of San Carlos of Valencia where she studied Beautiful Arts. Her first works as professional illustrator were book covers and works by order. Now at the age of 24 she is one of the most well-known illustrators in Spain.

Her most recent published works are her three books: Favole I - Lágrimas de piedra (Stone Tears), Favole II – Libérame (Free Me) and Favole III – Gélida Luz (Frozen Light). They are based on her memories from different cities she visited and include images and stories she wrote. The first volume is a story about a young vampire who was recently initiated in the world of darkness and is forced to hide in the shades thru three cities, Verona, Venice and Genoa in search of her lover Ezequel.

This exceptionally gifted artist and at the same time marvellous illustrator and narrator can expect a successful futures ahead of her. Her ability to make readers (who aren’t even familiar with the gothic art) fascinated with her work is extraordinary. We can expect to see a lot more of Victoria Francés in the future.

Favole is a tribute to the gothic romanticism, stories of immortal's passion told in illustrated images. Dark fairytales, girls at the edge of the death, plagued castels of mystery, dark lakes and rivers hidden in the forests that only the moon can find… These dark stories of goth and vampirism have entered the modern age and gained literary and cinematic success. Works by Tim Burton, Neil Gaiman or Anne Rice are known all over the world and gain followers each day. Favole has already been translated into five languages and is well-known all around the Europe.
